The Year of Laziness

  • September 14, 2024

I don’t know how this year has gone so fast, but mannn…how is it almost October?! I started the year off pretty exhausted from a cross country trip to spend the holidays with my mom. I felt really optimistic about the things I would get done in 2024 and I feel like I’ve done absolutely nothing lol.

I mean don’t get me wrong, I do my errands and stuff but that’s about it. There’s been a couple of hiccups with my health (read: my legs) but other than that, I have no excuses. Unfortunately, I’ve gotten into stupid games on my phone and it’s gotten to the point where I think I’m seriously addicted to them. So, last night I deleted one of them *gasp*. I’m fine so far haha. Oh and we just got through one helluva heatwave and now another one is coming next week.

One project I started in June and still working on is my music library. The files I have, I’ve had since the late 90’s. The titles aren’t correct, misspellings everywhere and every year for the past 20+ years I’ve said I needed to fix them. My library just keeps growing and growing…to over 2000 songs! So yeah, I’m finally doing it, manually. Alphabetically. I’m currently on the letter “S”, YaY!

So that’s one thing I suppose I’m getting done. But I wanna be outside, I want to go out and explore this beautiful area, I want to make photos. I keep telling myself to go, just go and I keep promising myself that when I’m done with _____ (fill in the blank with errand/chore/game) that I will, that I’ll have more time to do it. But noooooooo, here I sit.

*SIGH*

Keeping my fingers crossed that THIS week will be the week.

This little fella

…Is Jaxson. The newest addition to our family since yesterday. When I saw him he reminded me of my cat TJ, the color…the markings. So of course…I had to have him! He’s 7 months old and we think a mixed breed but mostly border collie. I’ll do a DNA test in the future to see exactly what he is. We’re happy, we needed this after this past year of loss. He’s so happy, so energetic, so lovable (OMG what did I get myself into?! LOL)

Daily walk

  • April 19, 2023

Every day I (try to) take a daily walk to keep my muscles strengthened and we happen to be fortunate enough to live on the beach so my walks take place there. Most days it’s calm, peaceful and just very Zen. Today…there are hundreds if not thousands of these small blue shell monster thingies with fins coming out?! At first I thought it was somehow just rocks everywhere but oh no, upon closer inspection these things are alive! I think lol. They are pretty though. Also there’s no smell so I’m pretty sure whatever they are, they aren’t dead.

Took the ABC bus in Mexico

  • November 5, 2022

So yesterday I returned from my Mom’s in Florida and decided to take public transportation all the way to Ensenada. After walking across the border in San Ysidro with my big ass suitcase (and getting lost trying to follow google maps lol) I went to the ABC bus station. I paid for my ticket, about $15 for a 70+ mile trip…not bad! They have a bus every hour from TJ to Rosarito/Ensenada. I waited about 20 minutes which was plenty of time to rest, grab a drink and relax.

The bus comes and an attendant takes your luggage, wraps a label on the handle and gives you the other part of the label with a matching numerical code. Do they do this on Greyhound in the states? I’ve never ridden it so I don’t know. I board the bus and go to the seat listed on my ticket. Either I got lucky or all the seats are the most comfortable seats EVER! Each seat had a little tv/pc monitor to watch tv or browse the internet. Definitely a great way to travel.

It all reminded me of the public transportation in Europe. The ease, speed, cost and multitude of choices. It’s one of the things I wish the states prioritized- public transportation at an AFFORDABLE COST. As much as I love my Jeep, I would much rather just walk and take a train or bus for farther distances. Anyways…I took Pics!
